Death and Life
Today I began my day reading one of my favorite scriptures, Psalm 19.  The imagery seems to always capture me (visual learner) and remind me of the beauty of God's creation.  It always makes me mindful of God’s intention for life.  I transitioned at some point to watching some of the morning news and was greatly saddened seeing the ticker tape that stated President Obama was going to overturn an international ban concerning abortion.

Our President has wasted no time in trying to establish his legacy.  I wonder will his legacy be the death of millions of more children, not just here in the United States but even abroad.  I pray for President Obama that he would consider the scripture and choose life over death.

This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live {20} and that you may love the LORD your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the LORD is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.  (Deuteronomy 30:19-20 NIV)

Merry Christmas

I want to wish everyone a blessed Christmas and New Year.  The word Christmas means more to me than ever before.   In this day of uncertainty and turmoil I am challenged to examine what I really base my life on.  I rejoice as I remember that God created the earth.  He sent His son to the created earth to live and die and then to be resurrected.  He now lives in my heart and in the heart of all those who receive Him.  I rejoice that He is coming again.

As I look back over this year I truly see the coming of God in so many ways.  I have seen His coming in the people as I have traveled to many places.   I am so grateful for my family and friends.

In the Owens home we are excited as our baby; Jarred became engaged to Lauren Albertson.   Sabrina and I continue to have a fun time as Papa Ray and Nene (grandparents) to Oliver and Silas.  Jeremy and Greta are doing well in their new home and enjoying leading worship at Rock Bridge Community Church.  Brandon and Jean are still enjoying Nashville.  Brandon has just started playing with a new band; Satellites and Sirens on Word Records.  This year I have had the privilege of having Jake Spier travel with me and help in the ministry.  Jake has been a great blessing.

I want to thank you all for your friendship, support, prayers, and faithfulness to God.

Again, Merry Christmas   Ray
